Of course, your friends are also warmly welcome at the Waldsägmühle, specially because we, the Ziegler family, count now for nearly 6 years our dog “Hexe” as a member of our family.
Despite everything, there are certain rules of conduct, which we would like to ask you to follow:
• Dogs should be kept on a leash throughout the hotel
• Dogs are not allowed in the entire spa area neither in the restaurant
• The dog toilet must always be packed in designated dog waste bags
Of course, your pets always sleep on the floor in the hotel room. Sofa, bed and chairs are not allowed.
We charge 12, – Euro per day for your dog, exclusive dog food.
Children up to the age of 5 years are invited from us to sleep over and have breakfast. Little treats are available at the breakfast buffet for the kids.
Bathrobes for children are available upon request. From the age of 6 to 14 years we charge 28 €, from 14 years onwards we charge 38 € for an extra bed in the room of the parents. In those prices is the stay over, breakfast and the use of the swimming pool included. Our restaurant offers an extra kids menu were your small ones can choose from.
For holidays with your baby we are more than happy to provide a baby bed.
1958 at the age of 19 Hans Ziegler takes over the old saw mill with a small restaurant from his grandfather Johannes Ziegler. 1961 Hans Ziegler marries the skilled woman tailoress Marta Frey from Röt. Marta studied
the hotel branch from ground up in the hotels Schwanen in Kälberbronn, Dreikönig in Freudenstadt and Obere Linde in Oberkirch. 1961/62 to secure the sawing mill business,
a new water line is built. At the same time the Ziegler family starts planning a new sawing mill at the location of today’s hotel. Soon however, the Zieglers recognize that there is little future in the timber business and change their plans to build a little hotel instead of a sawing mill. 1963 the new plan becomes reality and the digging of the foundation starts. 1964 the hotel with 21 beds and 65 seats is completed and is opened. 1965 due to the fact that the hotel and the restaurant becomes more and more popular and is also economically successful, the sawing mill business is discontinued. 1969 to enable to hold larger festivities and to expand the total capacity of the hotel the Zinsbachstube is attached. 1973/74 because of the strong demand, the hotel is expanded by an extension that holds another 25 beds, a reception, an indoor pool and a larger kitchen. (All rooms had shower or bath
and WC at that time already). 1979/80 in a further expansion today’s Ofenstube, the house guest room and the Kaminzimmer are added and the hotel capacity expanded by another 15 beds.
1982 the Waldsägmühle receives with its Chef Wolfgang Ankele the first “Star” in the Michelin travel guide. 1983 The “Vif – Gourmet Journal” classifies the Waldsägmühle amongst the 192 best Gourmet
addresses in Germany. From 1983 every year the Waldsägmühle is decorated with the “Bib Gourmet” in the Michelin travel guide. 1999 on 26. of december the storm “Lothar”
devastates a major portion of the Weiler Forest and causes dramatic damages around the Waldsägmühle. 2000 on 1. January Martin Ziegler, the youngest of the 5 children, takes over the Waldsägmühle
from his parents. 2000 the Waldsägmühle is decorated with “4 Stars” by the DEHOGA (Deutscher Hotel- und Gaststättenverband)
2001 Martin Ziegler marries Sabine Darnhofer from Graz, a qualified graduate in the hotel and catering trade. Marc, their first son is born. 2003 Tim, their second son is born. 2005 to further increase the attractiveness of the
Waldsägmühle, planning of the new wellness area ZinsbachTherme is started. 2008 on 7. December dreams become reality and the ZinsbachTherme is opened.
